The Predator 12v 200ah Lithium-Ion battery is our “entry level’ 12v 100ah Lithium-Ion (LiFePo4) battery and comes with an outstanding 5 year warranty. It has a built in battery management system (BMS) that is designed to prevent overcharge and undercharge and then switches the battery off if it is gets to a discharge of 3% of the capacity. We have achieved significant success with sales since our launch as an alternative to standard wet lead acid and AGM batteries in uses such as leisure (caravan, camper van & motorhome), marine and many others.
Lithium is known for being much more efficient in the way it can be charged and discharged. Lead acid batteries can only access approx 60% of their capacity on a discharge. Any further discharge below 60% capacity is well known to shorten the life of the battery. Also in terms of the number of cycles, they are only rated for approx 200 cycles (rated at 60% Depth of Discharge – DoD). Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are rated at approx 600 cycles at 80% DoD.
Our Predator 12v 80ah lithium-ion battery offers a life cycle of >3000 cycles (depending on individual use – rated at 80% DoD) so it can last up to 15 times the life of a normal lead acid, approx 5 times that of AGM batteries and at a higher DoD than both. This means that you as the consumer get much more capacity out of each cycle and many more cycles. This makes it a medium long term investment and cheaper over the total lifetime of the battery in comparison.
